I don’t remember where I read this, but someone was talking about how modern day feminism revolves more around “critically thinking” about things than it does grassroots work to improve things these days, and how that “critical thinking” builds off of ideas that build off of ideas that build off of ideas until it’s completely detached from reality, and that’s what I think of when the number one response I see to any highly televised protest or activist effort is people just absolutely tearing it to pieces and acting like the people involved somehow did something wrong by being there

When doing the right thing somehow gets construed as you needing to be punished heavily for the hypothetical other good things you could have done, or the hypothetical transgressions that you must be about to make, something has gone terribly wrong in your ideology
